This document provides a summary of the works undertaken by to develop the Stormwater Vision and Roadmap including the development of a stormwater specific vision statement, aspirations and supporting objectives. This report is intentionally prepared to complement the Stormwater and Flood Protection Asset
Management Plan and is targeted towards interested parties including mana whenua partners, Taranaki Regional Council (TRC), the development community, NPDC staff and the wider community.

Iwi and hapū have a number of concerns and aspirations regarding the state of the whenua, awa and moana as detailed in their respective environmental management plans. These concerns, where relevant to the stormwater activity, have been captured in the issues statement in section 3.1 and in the aspirations in the Vision.
The urban areas covered by this Stormwater Vision and Roadmap are within the rohe of three iwi and 10 hapū as follows:
Te Atiawa Iwi, comprising:
• Manukorihi Hapū.
• Ngāti Rahiri Hapū.
• Ngāti Tawhirikura Hapū.
• Ngāti Te Whiti Hapū.
• Ngāti Tuparikino Hapū.
• Otaraua Hapū.
• Pukerangiora Hapū.
• Puketapu Hapū.
Taranaki Iwi, comprising:
• Ngāti Tairi Hapū.
• Ngā Māhanga Hapū.
Ngāti Mutunga Iwi
A strategic framework, in the form of a vision, aspirations and objectives, for New Plymouth District to guide the way that stormwater activity is undertaken, as well as a method to enable the current state to be measured, goals to be set and progress tracked.
A Roadmap that outlines the actions required to achieve the three-year and 10-year goals. The Roadmap sets out a series of prioritised strategic planning activities required to make progress towards the Vision.
There are 13 stormwater uban catchments in the District; we are creating a plan for the management of SW that aligns with the SW V&R. The CMP identifies the issues and the opportunities... Work on brief description.
Add mention to the co-creation with mana whenua
Council has information available to the public through the NDP layer Stormwater Flood hazard... We are currently working on the update of our flood models for the district and will progressively update the public with the best data available. This will be an ongoing process, aligned with national and international best practice, available ground elevation data...

Explain Council's role to guide SP and how the Roadmap's work feeds into it
This could go from a little explanation (sw vs river flooding, the role of council in urban sw management; flooding and other effects of SW envirtonmental/cultural...
Speak a bit about the advantages to plan vs ad-hoc (cost effective, better understanding how to manage emergencies; adaptation to climate change, etc...)
