Fernery and display houses

Pukekura Park's Fernery consists of three glass-topped caverns excavated into a hillside. Being below normal ground level, they create a temperate environment suited to display a wide variety of indoor and outdoor plants from around the world.

Opening hours: 8.30am-4.00pm daily, except Christmas Day.

Tours: Free guided tours are available seven days a week. The Friends of the Park also run a buggy service for tours of Pukekura Park. Contact us to arrange.

Functions: The Fernery and Display Houses are a wonderful venue for wedding photos. For information and bookings contact us or call 06-759 6060.

Please note: maintenance work at the Fernery and Display Houses requires the Fred Parker Lawn entrance to be closed from Monday 5 September to Friday 9 September. The public can continue to visit the facility from the Horton Walk entrance during this time. Also, House 3 will be closed for maintenance from Friday 9 September until the end of the month – the rest of the facility will be open as usual.
