Location

The main entrance to Pukekura Park is on Fillis Street, close to the centre of New Plymouth. There are also 22 pedestrian entrances allowing entry from all sides of the park, and three other entrances with car parks on Rogan Street, Victoria Road and Brooklands Park Drive.

Visitor facilities

Visitor Information brochures and maps are available from the Tea House and the Fernery.

Row Boats on the Lake

Note, these are unavailable during Alert Level Red. 

There are fibreglass boats available for hire from the Tea House during the TSB Bank Festival of Lights and on most fine days throughout the year.

The nine boats are also available for private hire. These are perfect for corporate team building events, school excursions, weddings, birthdays or a fun family day out. Please contact the Tea House for more information on 06-758 7205.

Price: $15 per half hour (price subject to change)

Guided or Self-guided Walks

Guided tours are available through Friends of Pukekura Park. Self-guided tours are available by collecting a printed map of the park from the Tea House on the Lake or the Fernery and Display Houses.

Friends of Pukekura Park Buggy Tour

The Friends of Pukekura Park was formed in 1996 with the aim to see the special nature of Pukekura Park maintained and celebrated as unique. They offer a 45 minute highlights of Pukekura Park tour in a seven seater buggy with an emphasis on the park's history. Tours run between 10.30am and 3pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, weather permitting. Other days also available by arrangement.

Cost: $5 adults and $2 children.
