My principal place of residence is in the District-Wide Councillor area.
I am also standing for the Mayor.
My name is Greg Mackay.
I'm Taranaki Born and bred and, as a concerned citizen, I am offering my services, once more as both Mayor and Councillor for the district.
I am an Engineer by Trade and also have experience as a business owner, operator and manager in several areas. It is time for our council to revert to full support for our core services and to reduce overall costs consistent with providing top quality basic services for us, the citizens of our region.
There are several major issues facing us at this election. One I would mention is that I do not support the so called 'Three Waters' plan and believe that council retain ownership, and management of our own regional infrastructure and assets.
I hope that you will support me in my efforts and look forward to working for you with honesty, integrity and accountability.
Thanks, Greg Mackay.
No. I oppose the rate rise of 6% per annum for the next 8 years. First of all this council needs a financial revamp so we can see where we are placed. We do need to look at business to subsidize our rates. Such as our own Power & Gas Co-op.
No. I do not support the Three Waters Reform. Three Waters belongs to us the community. As for as I am concerned I will put my hear and soul into trying to save it along with the community.
Yes. The N.P.D.C, that is us the rate payers and community. I would like to see the community plant native tree where this is less accessibility and where there is ease of accessibility to plant fruit trees for all to enjoy the benefits.
Yes. N.P.D.C Could do more to support business. I would have to be of merit. Better accessibility to business where required and house keeping in the CBD areas and suburbs.
I neither support nor against Māori wards. I believe it doesn't matter who you are or where you are from as long as we can all work together and have the overall outcome for our community.
"Can we afford it". We have to be realistic. I do support a sports hub and therefore the complex would have to be capped off at 40 million with no overflow. I feel like the community needs involved in design before commencing. And not just by the councillors nor Mayors decisions.

Saving our Three Waters. The generations before us, Parents, Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, Family have created our infrastructure for our future generations. They have put their sweat and money into our infrastructure and I am not about to let it go without a fight. It belongs to us citizens.
