Kia ora koutou katoa, I am a local business owner, Mum and mental health advocate. I have never served on a council before, but I feel I have much to contribute, lived experience and genuine care for our local community and it's people.
The things I am passionate about are mental health, the environment, animal welfare, safety in our community and progressive thinking. I love spending time in nature, hiking our local tracks, walking on the beach with my dog and helping local business owners succeed through my business, Custom Digital Marketing. I believe in standing up for what I believe to be right, keeping an open mind and constantly learning.

Yes, I support rate increases to facilitate, promote, and support sustainable business growth, develop and maintain NPDC’s recreational facilities, upgrade and maintain our water network locally and invest wisely in areas that need attention.
No. My concern is that the central government's Three Waters reform removes the local communities' voice and input - further separating local people from local resources. There is also a risk of potential privatisation at a national level and accountability issues with decision-makers based outside of our district.
Yes. We can all continue to educate ourselves about climate change and its consequences on our planet. Being informed helps us make good choices, allowing us to nurture and care for our environment collectively. Together we can reduce waste, recycle, source efficient energy and conserve our water
Yes. We need to address parking accessibility issues in the CBD to attract more people to the area and encourage visits to our local eateries, shops and tourist spots. NPDC can offer further support to businesses by building on our vibrant town centre and supporting local business networks.
Yes. I fully support a Māori ward to ensure Māori are represented in local government decision-making. A Māori ward helps to enable Councils to honour the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and provide greater opportunities for Māori to get involved and contribute to the decision-making processes of our local authority.
NPDC can support Waitara, Ōākura, Urenui, Ōkato and Inglewood by inspiring innovation, supporting small businesses to leverage digital tools, promoting job creation and offering adequate public transport solutions to and from the CBD to service national tourism.
The idea of a sustainable facility and the delivery of future recreation services is a wonderful asset to the community; in an ideal world, this would be capped at $40million, but with the rising cost of materials and shortage of labour at the moment, I'm not sure how feasible that is.
Should I be fortunate enough to be elected to the council, my top priority will be advocating for increased mental health options/services in our community and supporting local businesses with ideas for positive change in this area. Helping families and workplaces to decrease the stigma around openly discussing mental health.
