Yes. It has been approved as part of the long-term plan. However, there are opportunities to help alleviate rates through the PIF, Three Waters reforms and amendments to the LTP.
No. From conception there were issues regarding government’s communication to local councils and their respective communities they represent. A regional model for Taranaki is an alternative option that should be pursued.
Yes. It’s a critical part of environmental pillar of the Local Government Act. This should be a priority of all councils.
Yes. Work alongside the business sector. We must have a clear strategy to enable and attract business to Taranaki. Working with Taranaki Chamber of Commerce, BARA and BT and the other sectors is a must.

Enable these respective communities to deliver on their aspirations. Working alongside the community boards will be key.
NPDC have committed $40 million as part of the LTP. It should be capped with any financial amendments go out the public for consultation.
My top priorities will be to have a clear strategic focus on the four wellbeing pillars of the Local Government Act, enhancing our district economically, environmentally, culturally and socially.
