Covid-19 informationZero Waste 2040 is our aspirational goal to have no rubbish or waste going into our landfill by 2040. It is a big challenge that will require big changes and everyone working together.
We are well on the way, with the introduction of the food scraps collection service in 2019, diverting 150 tonnes of food waste from the landfill each month. The opening of the Junction Zero Waste Hub on Colson Road is also a huge step forward for our district’s Zero Waste goal, providing a centre for waste reduction, recycling, hands-on education and a fun reuse shop to buy upcycled goods.
We are all in this together, and together we can make a difference.
